Position Overview

We are seeking a highly experienced Senior Product Manager (PdM), Payments to drive the end-to-end vision, roadmap, and delivery of tripla's critical global payments platform. This role involves owning the strategy, key integrations, and strategic profit contribution across Japan and our rapid international expansion

  • Cross-functional leadership: closely collaborate with Business development and Customer success to build a platform that serves our customers

 

Key Responsibilities

  • Define and Own Payments Strategy: Define the global vision, strategy, and roadmap for tripla's Payments for Japan and international markets.
  • Drive Transaction Economics: Support the payment business model, optimizing processing costs, pricing, and financial performance to maximize tripla's profit contribution.
  • Ensure Compliance and Risk: Serve as the product owner for PCI compliance, security, fraud prevention, and risk management across the platform.
  • Lead End-to-End Delivery: Oversee the full product lifecycle, leading agile execution to deliver high-scale, high-transaction volume solutions.
  • Utilize Data for Decisions: Leverage extensive data analysis and financial modeling to inform product prioritization, diagnose issues, and drive key decisions.
  • Manage Stakeholder Alignment: Serve as the strategic bridge between Engineering, Business Development, Customer Success, and external payment partners.
Qualifications

Basic

  • 5 + years of product-management experience shipping B2B2C SaaS products with a track record of launching high-scale, high-transaction volume products
  • At least 3 years in Demonstrated experience in Payments, in Japan and internationally, on areas such as Payment gateways, Multi-currency environments and local acquiring, digital wallets, PCI compliance, security, fraud and risk management
  • "Outcome-oriented" mindset: Ability to define success not by 'shipping features' or 'processing volume', but by 'Net Revenue Contribution' and 'Conversion Uplift' driven by payment flexibility.
  • Proven ability to define the high-level (38,000-foot) strategy while possessing the willingness to "get their hands dirty," including investigating critical issues and performing hands-on QA/testing when necessary.
  • Extremely comfortable with data, analysis and financial modeling. Proven ability to leverage analytics to inform, influence decision-making but also analyze potential product related issues
  • Self-starter who thrives in fast-paced, globally distributed environments.
  • Bilingual (Japanese & English)
  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent practical experience.

 

Preferred

  • Strong understanding of how API-first platforms enable AI/Automation agents.
  • Familiarity with AI technologies and applying AI to fintech solutions.
  • Experience working with Data Science or ML engineers is a huge plus.
  • Hospitality, travel, fintech, or e-commerce domain expertise.
